Xic (Piroxicam-Beta-Cyclodextrin) tablet is an advanced formulation of the classic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) piroxicam. It is generally used to treat Rheumatic disorders, like Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gout, and Extra-Articular Rheumatism.

It can work to reduce inflammation caused by several disorders and trauma, such as fractures, sprains, contusions, toothache, mouthache, post-operative pain, etc.

How this medicine is effective: Xic Tablet is composed of Piroxicam-Beta-Cyclodextrin, which belongs to the class of medications known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs or NSAIDs. It works by blocking the body’s ability to produce certain chemicals that cause inflammation and pain.

Side effects: Every medicine has side effects. However, they are extremely rare. Common side effects of this medicine may include;

  • Abdominal pain Xic-back
  • Constipation
  • Vomiting
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Allergic reactions in case of Hypersensitivity to the drug or its components

Drug Interactions: Always inform your doctor if you are taking:

  • Blood thinners (like Warfarin or aspirin), as NSAIDs significantly increase bleeding risks.
  • Or blood pressure medications (like ACE inhibitors or beta-blockers), because piroxicam can reduce their effectiveness. 
  • Piroxicam-beta-cyclodextrin is a prescription-only medication. It should be taken at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible, strictly under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
