Salazodine-EC

Salazodine-EC (Sulfasalazine Delayed-Release U.S.P) Tablet is used for the treatment of ulcerative colitis, post-amoebic colitis, proctitis, abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, diarrhoea, and bowel inflammation. This medicine is also used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

How it works: Salazodine-EC tablet is composed of Sulfasalazine, which belongs to a group of medicines known as anti-inflammatory drugs. It shows effectiveness by reducing swelling (inflammation) inside the body. 

Package contains: Each pack of Salazodine-EC contains 10’s tablets of 500mg.

Each delayed released tablet contains:

Sulfasalazine U.S.P 500mg

Dosage: As advised by the physician. (See literature insert for details).

Instructions:

  • Store at or below room temperature in a dry place.
  • Protect from light, humidity and heat.
  • Keep all medicine out of reach of children.
  • To be sold on prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.

Side effects: Some side effects may be caused by this medicine, but they are extremely rare.

Common side-effects are;

  • Unusual tiredness
  • Stomach upset Salazodine-EC-back
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Vomiting
  • Dizziness
  • Loss of appetite

Some serious allergic reactions may also occur;

  • Blurred vision
  • Hearing changes
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Painful urine
  • Blood in the urine
  • Signs of low blood sugar
  • Signs of kidney problems
