Pirfenox
Pirfenox (Pirfenidone) is a reversible inhibitor of cholinesterase activity and it also has nicotinic receptor agonist properties. The actions and general properties are similar to neostigmine.
Uses: It is used to treat a certain lung disease called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). It is used in the treatment of mild to moderate dementia in Alzheimer’s.

Side effects: The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by this medicine are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, including:
Headache, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Diarrhea, Tremors, Abdominal pain, Bradycardia, Dyspepsia, Nausea and vomiting, Muscle cramps, UTI, Hypertension & dyspepsia. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. Pirfenidone may rarely cause serious liver disease.
