Neometin

Neometin (Metronidazole + Neomycin Sulphate + Nystatin) vaginal tablets. It is not to be taken by mouth. It can be used to treat different types of vaginal infections.

Metronidazole 500mg

Neomycin Sulphate 108.3mg

Nystatin 22.73mg

Dosage: As directed by the physician.

Usage and direction for use: Usually one vaginal tablet per day for 10 consecutive days. Depending upon the severity of the vaginal infection the dose may be increased to two vaginal tablets per day for 10 consecutive days.

Treatment should be continued during menstruation, in case of confirmed fungal vaginitis the duration of treatment should be doubled, to remove tablets easily from their packing, the aluminum strip should be torn along its length, though it should preferably be cut with scissors.

Tablets should be moistened by soaking them in water for 20 to 30 seconds before insertion. The tablets should be inserted deep in the vaginal cavity with the applicator.

After insertion of Neometin, it is recommended to lie flat for 10-15 minutes. The applicator should be washed and dried after each application.

Indications: Neometin back

  • Bacterial vaginitis due to banal pyogenic pathogens.
  • Vaginitis with trichomonas.
  • Mycotic vaginitis due to Candida albicans.
  • Mixed vaginal infections with trichomonas and yeasts.
  • Desquamative vaginitis.

Side Effects: Rarely allergic cutaneous reactions. Rarely stinging or local irritation at the beginning of treatment has been reported.

Instructions: Protect from heat, light and moisture. All medicine should be keep out of the reach of children. Store below 30°C. NOT TO BE TAKEN BY MOUTH.
