Dapa (Dapagliflozin) tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine.
Package Contains: The Dapa package contains 14 tablets of 5mg in the box. The tablets are also available as 10mg. 
Composition:
Each film-coated tablet contains:
Dapagliflozin propanediol monohydrate equivalent to Dapagliflozin 5mg.
The product complies with the innovator’s specifications.
Dosage: As directed by the physician.
Dosage & Administration: Recommended Dosage:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus: The recommended starting dose of Dapagliflozin is 5mg once daily, taken in the morning, with or without food. In patients tolerating Dapagliflozin 5mg once daily who require additional glycemic control, the dose can be increased to 10 mg once daily.
Type 1 diabetes mellitus: Treatment with Dapagliflozin is to be initiated and supervised by specialists in type 1 diabetes. The recommended dose is 5 mg once daily.
Dapagliflozin must only be administered as an adjunct to insulin. For further dosage information please see the enclosed leaflet.
Indication: Dapagliflozin is indicated in adults for the treatment of insufficiently controlled:
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise, to improve glycaemic control,
-Monotherapy when metformin is considered inappropriate due to intolerance.
In addition to other medicinal products for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
- Type 1 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to insulin in patients with BMI ≥ 27 kg/m2, when insulin alone does not provide adequate glycaemic control despite optimal insulin therapy.
Adverse Reactions:
The following are the important side effects:
- Hypotension
- Ketoacidosis
- Acute kidney injury and impairment in renal function
- Uroseposis and pyelonephritis
- Hypoglycemia with concomitant use with insulin & insulin secretagogues
- Genital mycotic infections
- Increased in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).
Contraindication: History of serious hypersensitivity reaction to Dapagliflozin
Severe renal impairment, (eGFR less than 30 mL/min/1.73 m2) end-stage renal disease (ESRD), or patients on dialysis.
