Covam
Covam [Amlodipine + Valsartan] is used for the treatment of hypertension in:
- The patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on either monotherapy.
- The patients who are likely to need multiple medicines to lower their blood pressure.
It is also used to prevent certain types of chest pain (angina).
Package contains: The package contains 14 tablets. 
Composition:
Each tablet of covam contains:
Amlodipine 5mg (as amlodipine besylate USP)
Valsartan USP 80mg
Dosage: The usual dosage of covam is 1 tablet per day, see package insert for full prescribing information or take it as prescribed by your physician.
Side effects:
Common: Nasopharyngitis, influenza, hypokalemia, headache, asthenia, inflammation of nose and throat, stomach pain, fatigue, facial edema, etc
Uncommon: Anorexia, hypercalcemia, hyperuricemia, hyponatremia, visual impairment, dry mouth, nausea, erythema, rash, arthralgia, back pain, and joint swelling.
Rare: Hypersensitivity, anxiety, visual disturbance, tinnitus, syncope, hypotension, polyuria, and erectile dysfunction. Consult your physician immediately if any of these side effects get worse. 
Instructions:
- Store at 25°C.
- Protect from sunlight and moisture.
- Keep out of the reach of the children.
- To be sold on prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.
Warnings: Tell your doctor if you have liver impairment, several renal impairments, and hypersensitivity to the drug.
Don’t eat or drink lots of grapefruit or grapefruit juice because grapefruit can increase the concentration of amlodipine in your body and worsen side effects.
