CAPOTEN
Capoten (Captopril) Tablet is an antihypertensive drug. It is used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) and other disorders such as congestive heart failure and diabetic kidney disease. Each tablet of Capoten contains the active ingredient Captopril.

How it works: Capoten Tablet belongs to the class of drugs called ACE Inhibitors. It is used to treat heart failure, hypertension and kidney disease caused by diabetes known as diabetic nephropathy. This drug is also used after a heart attack to improve patient survival.
It works by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme (angiotensin-converting enzyme) which is responsible for the constriction of blood vessels. By causing relaxation of the blood vessels, It lowers the blood pressure and causes blood to flow more easily through the vessels.
All products with an active ingredient can cause side effects, although they are rare. Side effects can include:
- Dry mouth
- Loss of appetite
- Changed sense of taste
- Dry cough
- Decrease in sex drive
- Diarrhoea
- Vomiting
