Canesten 1 Tablet

Canesten 1 Tablet (Clotrimazole) by Bayer is a broad-spectrum antimycotic 1 Vaginal Tablet of 0.5g with Applicator. It is used for vaginal fungal infection, abnormal discharge, itching, burning, and irritation.

Package Contains: Each Canesten package contains one vaginal tablet of 0.5g with an applicator.

Composition: Each tablet contains: Canesten 1 Tablet

Clotrimazole U.S.P 0.5g

Dosage & Administration: Use as prescribed by the physician.

Uses: Canesten 1 Tablet is commonly used for:

  • Treatment of vaginal thrush (yeast infection).
  • Relief of vaginal itching, burning, and irritation caused by fungal infection.
  • Reduction of abnormal vaginal discharge associated with yeast infections.
  • Treatment of fungal infections of the vulva and surrounding genital area (when recommended by a healthcare professional).

Posology and Method of Administration: The vaginal tablet should be inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina in the evening before going to bed. Insertion is best achieved when lying back with the legs slightly drawn up. Clotrimazole vaginal tablets need moisture in the vagina to dissolve completely, otherwise undissolved pieces of the vaginal tablet might crumble out of the vagina. To prevent this, it is important to insert the medication as deeply as possible into the vagina at bedtime. Should the vaginal tablet not dissolve completely within one night, the use of a vaginal cream should be considered.

Side Effects: like all medicines, Canesten may cause some side effects, such as:

  • Burning or stinging sensation in the vagina.
  • Vaginal irritation or discomfort.
  • Itching.
  • Redness or swelling.
  • Mild pelvic or abdominal cramps.
  • Increased vaginal discharge.

Precautions & warning: Treatment with Clotrimazole vaginal tablets during the menstrual period should not be performed. During pregnancy the vaginal tablet should be inserted without using an applicator. Intended for use by adults and children 12 years of age and older.  Canesten 1 Tablet back
