Cal One-D

Cal One-D (Ossein Mineral Complex + Vitamin D3) by Martin Dow is an 830 mg + 400 IU, 30-tablet supplement with vitamin D3, minerals, and calcium. It is used to manage calcium and vitamin D deficiency and to support healthy and strong bones and teeth, as well as fractures with delayed healing in the body.

Package Contains: Each Cal One-D package contains 30 tablets of 830mg + 400 IU. It is also available as a suspension (syrup) of 60 AND 120 ml.

Composition: Each film-coated tablet contains: Cal One-D

Vitamin D3 (BP) 400IU

Ossein Mineral Complex 830mg

Corresponding to:

Calcium 177.6mg

Phosphorus 82.2mg

Residual Mineral Salts 24.9mg

Collagen 224.0mg

Other Proteins 66.4mg

Trace Elements F. Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, Ni.

*Corresponding to approx 440mg Hydroxyapatite.

Dosage & Administration: Adult Dosage: 1 to 2 film coated tablets daily before meal with some liquid.

Special Dosage Instruction: In Osteoporosis: Increase dosage as prescribed by the physician.

Restrictions On Use: Higher dose should be reduced in hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria.

Therapeutic indications / Uses: Cal One-D is indicated for:

  • Increased mineral requirements during pregnancy and lactation, osteoporosis, osteomalacia, osteoarthritis, bone pains, bone fragility, stiffness in joints, fatigue and hypocalcemia.
  • As an adjuvant in fractures with delayed callus formation.
  • Poor bone and tooth development, decreased growth and rickets in children.

Overdose: None.

Drug Interactions: The absorption of iron and tetracyclines is reduced when Ossein Mineral Complex + Vitamin D3 is administered concomitantly since chelates are formed that are absorbed with difficulty. In such cases, it is advisable to administer Ossein Mineral Complex + Vitamin D3 about 4 hours later.

Adverse Reactions: No side effects specific to the product are known. Ossein Mineral Complex + Vitamin D3 is well tolerated even if taken over a prolonged period.

Contraindications: Hypercalcemia and severe hypercalciuria; in patients with a predisposition to urinary concretments, the physician must decide on the dosage; in disorders of renal function, prolonged administration of high doses should be avoided; use in pregnancy has not provided evidence of any damage to the fetus.

Vitamin D3 is produced in skin by photochemical conversion. It is also an important dietary nutrient. Vitamin D3 insufficiency develops when both sunlight exposure and dietary intake are inadequate. Insufficiency is associated with negative calcium balance, bone loss, increased parathyroid hormone levels and increased risks of skeletal fracture.
