Artinil-K

Artinil-K (Diclofenac potassium USP) is 75 mg tablet presented as 2 x 10 film coated tablets. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with pronounced analgesic & anti-pyretic properties. It is an inhibitor of cyclo-oxygenase; Artinil-K has been formulated to make available the well-established pharmacotherapeutic effects of Diclofenac potassium.

Package contains: Artinil-K contains 20’s film coated tablets of 75mg in its pack. It is also available in 30 film coated tablets of 50mg.

Each film coated tablet contains: 

Diclofenac potassium USP 75mg.

Dosage: For adults 1 tablet 2-3 times daily or use according to medical advice.

Mechanism of Action: Artinil-K tablet acts mainly by inhibiting prostaglandin biosynthesis, which plays a major role in causing Inflammation, pain and fever.

Indications: Artinil-K has rapid onset of action, which makes it particularly indicated in short-term treatment of acute Painful and inflammatory conditions like

  • Conditions of acute pain, inflammations and swelling following surgical interventions, e.g. Dental Extraction, tonsillectomy, orthopedic surgery and Abdominal surgery.
  • Painful and inflammatory conditions in gynecological cases, e.g. Primary dysmenorrhoea, adnexitis.
  • Acute pain, inflammation and swelling following traumatic conditions, e.g. due to sprain.
  • Painful conditions of vertebral column.
  • Non-articular rheumatism.
  • As an adjuvant to appropriate basic therapy for Several painful conditions due to Infections of ear, nose and throat e.g. Influenza, Pharyngotonsillitis, otitis.

Dosage & Administration:

  • For pain and soft tissue inflammation; Adults: 100- 150 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses.
  • In mild cases and children over 14 years of age: 75- 100 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses:

For primary dysmenorrhoea:

  • 50- 150 mg daily in divided doses & can be increased to 200mg.
  • Individual dose to be adjusted, depending on symptomatology & continued for few days.
  • Or as advised by the physician/ doctor.

Side Effects: Most common: gastrointestinal disorder, nausea, Vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal cramps. Occasional Headache, dizziness, vertigo, skin rashes, elevation of aminotransferase values in liver. Rarely gastric or intestinal ulcer with or without bleeding or perforation, drowsiness, hepatitis with or without jaundice, urticaria, hypersensitivity, and oedema.

Isolated cases: disorientation, insomnia, irritability, anxiety, convulsions, agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenia, hematolytic anemia, palpitations, chest pain, and congestive heart failure.

Precautions: Vigilant medical supervision is necessary in patients with a history of gastric or intestinal ulcerative Colitis, hepatitis, or impaired cardiac and renal functions. Patients receiving long term treatment advised for periodic blood counts.

Interactions: Artinil-K tablets when co-administered in completely absorbed doses, pharmacokinetic interaction may occur, increasing the frequency of adverse effects.

Contraindications: Diclofenac potassium is contraindicated in patients having a known history of gastric or intestinal ulcer, asthma, or hypersensitivity to Diclofenac. Artinil-K-2
