Fervit

Fervit (Hematonic) is a 120mL liquid (syrup) by Stanley that provides iron, B-complex, and vitamin C. It is used to help prevent and treat iron deficiency and support healthy red blood cell formation. Fervit is called a hematonic because it helps support blood formation and is commonly used in the prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anemia.

Composition:  Fervit

Each teaspoonful (5ml) contains:

Ferrous Sulphate (U.S.P) 131mg. (represents 26.25mg of elemental iron)

Vitamin B12 (B.P) 6.25mcg.

Vitamin C (B.P) 125mg. Vitamin B1 (B.P) 1.5mg.

Vitamin B2-5-Phosphate (B.P) 1.5mg.

Vitamin B6 (B.P) 1.25mg.

Nicotinamide (B.P) 7.5mg.

Cal. D. Pantothenate (B.P) 2.5mg.

Dosage: Usual Therapeutic Dose:

Adults: Two teaspoonfuls twice daily after meals.

Infants & Children: One teaspoonful twice daily after meals.

Usual Prophylactic Dose: Half of the therapeutic dose. Dosage may vary at the discretion of the Physician. For prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia, especially with associated nutritional deficiencies.

Indications / Uses: Fervit syrup is used for the prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anemia, especially when associated with nutritional deficiencies.

  • Ferrous Sulphate (Iron): Helps prevent and treat iron deficiency and supports red blood cell formation.
  • Vitamin B12: Supports healthy red blood cell production and normal nerve function.
  • Vitamin C: Helps improve iron absorption and supports immune function.
  • Vitamin B1: Supports energy production and normal nerve function.
  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): Helps with energy metabolism and normal cell function.
  • Vitamin B6: Supports red blood cell formation and protein metabolism.
  • Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3): Supports energy metabolism and healthy skin and nerves.
  • Calcium D-Pantothenate (Vitamin B5): Helps the body convert food into energy.

Adverse Reactions / Side Effects: The syrup is generally well tolerated, but some people may experience mild stomach-related side effects, such as nausea, upset stomach, etc. The iron in Fervit can also make the stools darker or black, which is usually normal when taking iron supplements. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consult your pharmacist or doctor.
