Btno (Bambuterol HCI) syrup 5mg/5ml is used in the treatment of bronchospasm and asthma. It is used to help manage asthma and relieve breathing difficulties caused by narrowed airways.

Indications/ Uses: It is indicated for bronchial asthma. Chronic bronchitis, emphysema and other lung diseases, where bronchospasm is a complicating factor.

Asthma: It is used in the treatment of asthma which is an inflammation of the airways. Wheezing, cough, difficulty in breathing are a few symptoms of asthma. This medicine is used for the prevention and treatment of bronchospasm in patients suffering from asthma and other airway-related problems.

Dosage & Administration:

Bambuterol is taken once daily, shortly before bedtime. The dosage should be individual.

Children: 2-5 years: The recommended normal dose is one teaspoon.

6-12 years: The recommended initial dose is one teaspoon. The dose may be increased after 1-2 weeks, depending on the clinical effects.

Adults: 6-12 years: The recommended initial dose is two teaspoons. depending on the clinical effects. The dose may be increased upto 4 teaspoons after one to two weeks or as directed by the physician.

Precautions: This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to bambuterol or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.

Adverse Effects: Adverse reactions which have been recorded are all characteristic of sympathomimetic amines. The intensity of the adverse reactions is dose-dependent. Tolerance to these effects has usually developed within one to two weeks. Common (1%): headache, palpitations, tremor, tonic muscle cramps, urticaria, and exanthema. Rare (< 0.1%): Hypokalaemia, Nausea, restlessness, atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, and extrasystoles.
