Solsef

Solsef (cephradine) is a 125mg/5ml dry suspension 60ml when reconstituted in strawberry flavored, used for bacterial infections.

Composition:

Each reconstituted 5ml contains:

Cephradine (as monohydrate) 125mg (USP Specs).

Dosage: As directed by the physician.

Adults: 1-2 gm daily in 2 or 4 divided doses. Children: 25-50 mg/kg daily in 2 or 4 divided doses.

Directions for preparation: Fill previously boiled and cooled water up to the mark 60 ml on the bottle & shake vigorously. Shake well before use. Keep tightly close after use.

The reconstituted suspension can be used for up to 7 days when stored at room temperature and up to 14 days when refrigerated. For accurate measurement of dosage, a spoon is provided.

Indications: Solsef is used for the treatment of bacterial infections such as throat infections, skin infections, urinary tract infections. It is used to treat ear infections and otitis media.

It is also used to treat upper respiratory infections such as tonsillitis and lower respiratory infection such as pneumonia.

Side effects: Some people may experience hypersensitivity, GI upset, pseudomembranous colitis. Most people do not experience any significant side effects.

Caution: People who experience allergic reactions to penicillin antibiotics, do not take it.  Solsef-back
