Progesterone 50 ml injection for veterinary (animal) use only by Star Laboratories, is injected into animals through I.M intra muscularly. It is mostly used for animals like camels, horses, cows, and sheep. Progesterone 25 mg/ml injection is a hormonal veterinary medication used to regulate reproductive cycles, maintain pregnancy, and prevent miscarriages in animals.

Indications/Uses: Progesterone is indicated for the achievement of a better flock within a short duration. Progesterone controls threatened abortion.

Pregnancy losses often occur due to progesterone deficiency; therefore, its injection is essential for maintaining pregnancy. Due to progesterone deficiency, pregnancy is often lost, therefore, the correct amount is very necessary to maintain pregnancy. To reduce the breeding season interval, progesterone is best for advance reproductive planning in dairy farms, sheep and goat farms.

Administration & Dosage:

By intramuscular injection daily or on alternate days.
Cattle & Buffaloes: (50-100 mg) 2-4 ml for 150-300 Kg body weight
Sheep & Goats: (upto 50 mg) 1-2 ml
Bitch & Cats: (2-5 mg) 0.08 to 0.20 ml.

Meat: 0 days
Milk: 0 hours

Warnings and Precautions:

For veterinary use only. Not for human use.
Use only under the supervision or direction of a qualified veterinarian.
Use the recommended dose and do not exceed the prescribed dosage or duration of treatment.
It should be used only when clinically indicated and after appropriate veterinary assessment of the animal’s reproductive condition.
Use with caution in animals with reproductive tract disorders, liver dysfunction, or other conditions that may be affected by hormonal treatment.
Do not use in animals with a known hypersensitivity to the ingredient.
Avoid unnecessary or prolonged use of progesterone, as inappropriate hormonal therapy may interfere with the normal reproductive cycle.
If any unusual or severe reaction occurs, discontinue treatment and seek veterinary advice.
Inform the veterinarian about any other medicines or hormonal treatments the animal is receiving.
Store according to the manufacturer’s instructions and do not use after the expiry date or if the container is damaged or the contents appear abnormal.
