Mil-D-Forte

Mil-D-Forte 300ml injection by Star Laboratories is for veterinary (animal) use only and is injected into animals through I.V (Intravenous) and S.C (Subcutaneous). The injection is mostly used for animals like camels, horses, cows, and sheep. It contains high potency, neurotropic vitamin b complex, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, boric acid, & dextrose that commonly prevent hypovitaminosis in animals, infertility and milk fever.

Package Contains: Each pack of Mil-D-Forte contains 300 ml liquid injection in a glass vial and a leaf inserted inside.

Composition:  Mil-D-Forte

Each 100 ml contains:

Calcium Gluconate 20.83 gm

Magnesium Hypophosphite 5.33 gm

Magnesium Chloride 2.00 gm

Cal-D-Saccharate 1.00 gm

Boric Acid 4.33 gm

Vitamin B1 100 mg

Vitamin B6 70 mg

Vitamin B12 3000 mcg

Nicotinamide 200 mg

Dextrose 20 gm

Indications/Uses: It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of hypovitaminosis in animals, infertility, myoglobinuria, hemorrhages, hematuria, purpura, toxicosis debility, physical exhaustion and convulsion, degenerative myopathy, muscular fatigue, enzootic paraplegia of calves, myocarditis, cardial insufficiency, hypocalcemia, milk fever, tetany, intoxication, neurosis metabolic disturbance and poor latour etc.

Dosage & Administration: 

  • Horses and Cattle 200 – 300ml
  • Sheep and goats 30 – 60ml
  • Subcutaneous or slow intravenous injection.

Directions & Precautions:

While injecting subcutaneous or intravenous injection of Milfone Super, Milfone,

Milfone-C or Mil-D-Forte, the following precautions are necessary to be observed.

Incompatibilities /Safety Information: Milfone Super, Milfone, Milfone-C, Mil-D-Forte due to containing calcium is incompatible with menbutone, methylprednisolone sodium phosphate, promethazine hydrochloride, sodium bicarbonate intravenous infusion, streptomycin sulphate, tetracyclines, all drugs in the form of carbonate, phosphate or sulfa salts. Do not inject calcium preparations with the above-mentioned salts.

  1. The syringe and needle should be properly sterile.
  2. The air in the syringe and needle should be thoroughly exhausted before filling and injecting.
  3. The temperature of injection should correspond with body temperature of the animals to avoid shivering
  4. Intravenous injection should be given very slowly within 15 to 30 minutes preferably with 16 Number Needle.
  5. Subcutaneous injection should be given at two sites instead of one.
  6. The hastily injected material reduces the pulse rate of the animal and make it irregular which is likely to cause heart failure in some cases although chances are very rare.
  7. In case no response is observed after first injection, the dose can be repeated but after 3 to 4 hours.
  8. Milfone Super, Milfone, Milfone-C, Mil-D-Forte is not recommended for increase in Milk Volume.
  9. Milfone Super, Milfone, Milfone-C, Mil-D-Forte is not recommended to increase the weight of the animal.
  • Some animals require a larger quantity of calcium, so Star has introduced a 450 ml packing in addition to 300 ml Milfone-C.
