Ciprulz

Ciprulz (Ciprofloxacin) by Focus and Rulz dry suspension is 60ml (syrup) when reconstituted to 125mg/5ml strength in a pleasantly flavored. It is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.

Package Contains: Each pack of Ciprulz contains a dry suspension of 60ml (syrup) when reconstituted and a leaflet.

Composition: (When reconstituted as directed)  Ciprulz

Each 5ml contains:

Ciprofloxacin 125 mg

Directions for Reconstitution:

  1. Tap the bottle to loosen the powder.
  2. Add a small quantity of pre-boiled and cooled water in the bottle and shake.
  3. Then add more water up to the mark given on the label
  4. Close the cap tightly and shake well to make a suspension.
  5. Reconstituted suspension should be stored within 14 days if stored at temperature. (15℃- 30℃).

Dosage & Administration:

Adults: 250mg-500mg twice daily.

Children (1-17 years): 10-20mg/kg body weight twice daily or as directed by the physician.

Indications and usage: Ciprulz is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms in the conditions and patient populations listed below:

Adults:

  • Urinary Tract Infection.
  • Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis.
  • Acute Sinusitis.
  • Skin and Skin Structure Infections.
  • Bone and Joint Infections.
  • Complicated Intra-Abdominal Infections.
  • Infectious Diarrhoea.
  • Typhoid Fever.
  • Uncomplicated cervical and urethral gonorrhea due to Neisseria gonorrhea Pediatric patients.

Children (1 to 17 years of age): Complicated Urinary Tract Infections and Pyelonephritis due to Escherichia coli Cystic Fibrosis* (for children above 5 years of age) “BNF March 2009.

Precautions: In epileptics and in patients who have suffered from previous CNS disorders (e.g. lowered convulsion threshold, previous history of convulsions, reduced cerebral blood flow, altered brain structure, or stroke), Ciprulz should only use where the benefits of treatment exceed the risks, since these patients are endangered because of possible central nervous side effects.

  • Keep bottle tightly closed and avoid freezing.
  • Store below 30°℃ in a dry place.
  • Protect from sunlight.
  • Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.
  • To be sold on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.
  • Shake well before each use.
