Cefxone

Cefxone (Ceftriaxone) IV by Bosch is a 1 g sterile powder for injection. It can be used intravenously (IV) only. Ceftriaxone is a potent, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic administered via IV to treat a variety of bacterial infections.

Ceftriaxone Sodium USP eq. to Ceftriaxone 1000mg

Sterile WFI USP: Do not use without Bosch WFI (Sterile Water for Injection)

Dosage:

  • For IV Use Only.

Uses: Cefxone is used for Bacterial meningitis and acute otitis media, community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP), Intra-abdominal infections (IAls), Complicated Urinary Tract Infections (cUTis) (including pyelonephritis), Infections of bones and joints.

It is also used for Complicated Skin and Soft Tissue Infections (cSSTIs), Gonorrhea & syphilis, Bacterial endocarditis, acute exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in adults, disseminated Lyme borreliosis, pre-operative prophylaxis of surgical site infections, and management of neutropenic patients with fever.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone, cephalosporin, beta-lactam antibacterial agent (penicillins, monobactams, and carbapenems).

Special Warnings and Precautions for Use:

Hypersensitivity reactions, interaction with calcium-containing products, premature and full-term neonates at risk of developing bilirubin encephalopathy, immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, colitis and pseudo-membranous colitis, severe renal and hepatic Insufficiency, interference with serological testing, biliary lithiasis, biliary stasis, biliary sludge, renal lithiasis, Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction (JHR), and encephalopathy. Instructions:

  • Add 10mL sterile water in the vial for making a solution.
  • Protect from heat, light & moisture,
  • store at room temperature 15C-30 C.
  • The expiration date refers to the product correctly stored at the required condition.
  • Keep out of the reach of children.

Precautions:

  • For one-time use only, discard the unused portion.
  • To be sold on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.
