Cefia DS

Cefia DS (Cefixime) Highnoon 200mg/5mL Dry Powder for Suspension. It is 30 ml of syrup after reconstitution. It is used to treat bacterial infections.

Package Contains: Each Cefia DS package contains a 30ml (after reconstitution) suspension bottle of 200mg/5ml & a measuring cup.

Composition:  Each reconstituted 5 mL contains: Cefia DS
Cefixime (as Trihydrate) 200 mg

Dosage & Instructions: To be sold and used on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.

Directions for Reconstitution: Shake the bottle to dislodge powder from the inner surface. Add freshly boiled and cooled water (10 mL) using the provided measuring cup into the bottle and shake. Again, add freshly boiled and cooled water (10 mL). Close the bottle with the cap tightly and shake well to make a suspension (syrup). Shake well before each use and close the bottle with the cap tightly after use. The reconstituted suspension should be used within 7 days at room temperature and within 12 days when stored in a refrigerator.

Uses:  It is commonly used to treat:

  • Throat infections and tonsillitis.
  • Ear infections.
  • Sinus infections.
  • Chest infections and bronchitis.
  • Pneumonia.
  • Typhoid fever.
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs).
  • Certain bacterial intestinal infections.

Side Effects: Like all medicines Cefia DS may cause some side effects, such as:

  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Stomach pain.
  • Headache.

Instruction: Shake well before use. For details, see the enclosed leaflet. Keep out of reach of children. Do not store above 30°C. Keep in a dry place. Protect from light.
