Moxigan

Moxigan (Moxifloxacin) 5 ml 0.5% ophthalmic solution sterile (eye drops). Moxifloxacin hydrochloride eye drops are a topical antibiotic formulation used specifically to treat bacterial eye infections. The medication is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It works by killing the bacteria that cause infection.

Package Contains: Each Moxigan package contains a 5ml Ophthalmic Suspension Sterile (eye drops) in a plastic dropper bottle & a leaflet.

Composition: Each ml contains:

Moxifloxacin (as Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride) 5mg.

Indications / Uses: Moxigan Eye Drops are used for

Bacterial Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye). It treats acute bacterial infections of the conjunctiva (the outer membrane of the eye).
Bacterial Keratitis, Inflammation of the cornea due to bacterial infection. It may be used alone or as part of a combination therapy.
Post-Surgical Prophylaxis: Used before or after eye surgeries (e.g., cataract surgery) to prevent bacterial infections.

Dosage: 1 drop in the affected eye 2-3 times a day for 7 days. Or as directed by your physician. Always follow your doctor’s instructions or the specific product labelling.

Side Effects: It may cause eye irritation or discomfort, dry eyes & blurred vision (temporary after application). It can rarely cause hypersensitivity or an allergic reaction.

Precautions: Contact lens wearers: Avoid using lenses during infection.

Do not use for viral or fungal eye infections.
Avoid contamination: Do not touch the dropper tip to your eye or any surface.
Using moxifloxacin ophthalmic for a long period of time may lead to an infection with other types of germs, such as fungi.

Pregnancy & Lactation: The drug should be used during pregnancy and lactation only if the potential benefit justifies the anticipated risk or as suggested by the treating physician.

Instructions: Store between 2 to 25°C. Protect from light & moisture. Use only on medical advice. Keep out of reach of children. For Ophthalmic use only. Once opened, use within one month.
