Konac
Konac (Diclofenac Sodium) by Remington is a 5ml (Approx) sterile ophthalmic solution (eye drops). Diclofenac Sodium (Konac) is a topical, non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory product for ophthalmic use. It is also a potent cyclooxygenase inhibitor with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties.
Package Contains: Each Konac package contains an eye dropper bottle of 5ml and a leaflet.
Composition: Each ml contains: 
Diclofenac Sodium 1.00mg.

Dosage:
Pre-operative: One drop into the affected eye(s) 5 times over the 3 hours preceding surgery.
Post-operative: One drop into the affected eye(s) 3 times immediately after surgery, thereafter one drop 3 to 5 times daily as long as required.
Other indications: One drop into the affected eye(s) 4 to 5 times daily, depending on the severity of the conditions.
Uses/Indications: Konac Ophthalmic Solution is indicated for the treatment of:
- Inhibition of miosis during cataract surgery.
- Post-operative inflammation after cataract surgery and other surgical procedures.
- Chronic conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, and painful post-traumatic conditions of the cornea and conjunctiva.
- Pre-operative and post-operative prevention of cystoid macular oedema associated with lens extraction and intraocular lens implantation.
- Non-infectious inflammatory conditions affecting the anterior region of the eye (e.g. chronic non-infectious conjunctivitis).
- Post-traumatic inflammation in penetrating and non-penetrating wounds (as an adjuvant to local anti-infective therapy).
Side Effects: The following unwanted effects have been observed during clinical studies with Diclofenac Sodium ophthalmic solution:
- Occasional mild to moderate, transient stinging and/or blurred vision directly after application of the drops.
- Rare hypersensitivity reactions in the form of itching, reddening and photosensitivity.
Caution/ Instructions: Once opened, use within 4 weeks. Protect from sunlight and heat. Store in a cool, dry place away from children’s reach. Do not freeze. On prescription only. Store between 15°C – 25°C.
