Dexatob

Dexatob (Tobramycin 0.3% Dexamethasone 0.1%) is a 5ml otic drop (ear drops). It is an antibiotic and steroid combination for topical ear use. It is used to treat bacterial and fungal infections of the ear.

Package Contains:  Each Dexatob package contains an ear dropper bottle of 5ml in a plastic dropper bottle & a leaflet.

Composition:  Dexatob

Each ml contains:

Tobramycin U.S.P 3 mg

Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate U.S.P eq to Dexamethasone (1.0mg) in propylene glycol base.

Dosage: Children: As directed by the physician.

Indications / Uses: Dexatob ear drops are indicated in steroid-responsive inflammatory otic conditions for which a corticosteroid is indicated and where superficial otic infection or a risk of bacterial infection exists.

Dosage & Administration:

Children: (1 to 12 years old): 2 to 3 drops into the affected ear(s) twice daily.

Adults: (12 years and older): 3 to 4 drops into the affected ear(s) twice daily or as directed by the Physician.

Contraindications: It is contraindicated in fungal diseases of the ear canal or hypersensitivity to any component of the medication.

Precautions: The possibility of fungal infections of the ear canal should be considered after long-term steroid use.

Adverse Reactions / Side Effects:  Adverse reactions have occurred with steroidal / anti-infective combination drugs. The most frequent adverse reaction to tropic tobramycin is localized hypersensitivity, including itching and swelling. These reactions occur in less than 4% of patients. Dexatob back
