Brimo-T

Brimo-T (Brimonidine Tartrate + Timolol) 0.2% w/v + 0.5% w/v by ATCO 5ml,  sterile ophthalmic solution. It is used to reduce the risk of vision loss, intraocular pressure, and other complications.

Package Contains: Each Brimo-T package contains 5ml eye drops in a dropper bottle & a leaflet.

Composition: Each ml contains:  Brimo-T

Brimonidine Tartrate BP 0.2% w/v (2mg)

Timolol (as Timolol Maleate USP)

0.5% w/v (5mg)

Indications, Dosage and Administration: Use as directed by the physician. For further information, see the pack insert.

Therapeutic indications: Brimo-T ophthalmic solution is indicated for the reduction of intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with chronic open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently responsive to topical beta-blockers.

Side Effects: The most commonly reported ADRs are conjunctival hyperaemia (approximately 15% of patients) and burning sensation in the eye (approximately 11% of patients). The majority of these cases are mild and led to discontinuation rates of only 3.4% and 0.5%, respectively.

The following adverse drug reactions are reported with Brimo-T:

  • Eye disorders Very Common (>1/10): conjunctival hyperaemia, burning sensation Common (>1/100, <1/10): stinging sensation in the eye, eye pruritus, allergic conjunctivitis, conjunctival folliculosis, visual disturbance, blepharitis, epiphora, corneal erosion, superficial punctuate keratitis, eye dryness, eye discharge, eye pain, eye irritation, foreign body sensation.
  • Uncommon (>1/1000, <1/100): visual acuity worsened, conjunctival oedema, follicular conjunctivitis, allergic blepharitis, conjunctivitis, vitreous floater.

Instruction: Keep out of the reach of children. Protect from light & heat. Do not store & transport above 30°C & avoid freezing. Shake well before use. Do not touch the tip of the bottle to any surface to avoid contamination. The contents should not be used more than four weeks after first opening the bottle. Tighten the cap after use.
