Bracin

Bracin (Tobramycin Ophthalmic Solution) 0.3% w/v is an eye drops sterile solution. It is a water-soluble aminoglycoside antibiotic that is effective against bacterial infections & for ophthalmic use only.

Package contains: Each pack of Bracin contains 5ml eyedrops in a dropper bottle & a leaflet.

Composition:

Each ml contains:

Tobramycin 3mg (0.3%w/v) (as Tobramycin Sulphate USP) Product Complies with ATCO Specifications.

Dosage & Administration:

1-2 drops 4 hourly. In severe cases increases to 2 drops every one hour. Reducing prior to discontinuation. In case of persistent irritation consult the doctor.

Mild Infections: Instill 1 to 2 drops of BRACIN into the affected eye (s) every four hours or as directed by the physician.

Severe Infections: Instill 2 drops of BRACIN into the affected eye (s) every hour until improvement occurs or as directed by the physician. Dosage should be reduced prior to discontinuation.

Indications: For complete indications, read enclosed insert or use as directed by the physician.

BRACIN is indicated in the treatment of infections of the external eye and its adnexae caused by the susceptible bacteria e.g. in conditions like conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, blepharitis. dacryocystitis, palpebral abscess, prophylactic in traumatic eye and in pre and post-operative eye conditions.

Pediatric Use: Clinical data has demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of Tobramycin in children.

Contraindications: Tobramycin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Adverse Effects: The most frequent adverse reaction to Tobramycin is localized ocular toxicity and hypersensitivity including lid itching, swelling and conjunctival erythema. If topical ocular Tobramycin is administered along with systemic aminoglycoside antibiotics, ere should be taken to monitor the total serum concentrations.

Use in Pregnancy & Nursing Mothers: Safety of the use of this drug in pregnancy has not been established. This drug should only be used during pregnancy and nursing mother if clearly needed.

Instructions: Do not store & transport above 30°C & avoid freezing. Protect from light and heat. Keep out of the reach of children. Shake well before use. Tighten the cap after use. To be sold on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner only. The contents should not be used more than four weeks after first opening the bottle.
