Dizet

The components used in the composition of this medicine belongs to the classification of Antibiotics. Diloxanide Furoate and Metronidazole are used in this medicine. Dizet

Diloxanide Furoate is used to treat the internal infection of the body mostly related to amoeba infections. Metronidazole is also used for the same purpose with an addition of its antibiotic nature.

Metronidazole has variety of other functions too, such treating inflammation, endocarditis, and dental abscesses. Both components work together to cure the infection and prevent other bacteria to grow at the infected area.

Dizet is available in form of film coated capsules and suspension syrup. The capsule comprises of 400mg of Metronidazole and 500mg of Diloxanide Furoate. A 60ml syrup bottle is composed of 250mg Diloxanide Furoate and 200mg Metronidazole suspension in it.

A brief dosage instruction is mentioned on the box of Dizet, the for the children from 1 to 5 years old, it is recommended to take the syrup in 1 teaspoon 3 times each day for five days.

The children from 6 to 12 years are recommended to take this medicine in 1 to 2 teaspoons three times a day and continue till 5 days.

For adults it is 2 to 4 teaspoons three times a day and continue for 5 days. As for tablet intake, the dosage instructions might be different. It is a must to consult the doctor or physician for the dosage time, quantity, type of dose.

Patients having history with hypersensitivity are not suggested to use this medicine without prescription of doctor. Other minor side effects may include upset stomach, dizziness, vomiting and increasing of infection. Dizet_back
