Dexcip

Dexcip (Ciprofloxacin-Dexamethasone) is an ear suspension made by Remington Pharmaceuticals Industries PVT Ltd.

It is used to treat bacterial ear infections, which includes the treatment of middle ear infections with ear t8ubes and outer ear infections in children and adults.

Each pack contains: Each pack of Dexcip contains an ear suspension of approximately 5ml.

Composition:

Each ml contains:

Ciprofloxacin HCL U.S.P equivalent to Ciprofloxacin base 3mg

Dexamethasone U.S.P 1mg

Inactive: Benzalkonium chloride (as preservative), sodium chloride, boric acid, polysorbate, disodium edetate, sodium acetate, acetic acid, and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. Sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid may be used for pH adjustment.

Usage: This medicine is used to treat outer ear infections, also known as swimmer’s ear. It is also used to treat middle ear tubes infection in adults and children.

However, this medicine is effective only with bacterial infections.

Dosage: As directed by a physician. Shake well before use. This medicine should be used only in the ear and should not be used in the eyes and nose.

To use this medicine, wash your hands properly. Hold the bottle in your hands for 1-2 mins to warm it up. Lie down with your infected ear facing up. Then drop the prescribed number of drops into the ear.

Side effects: Side effects of this medicine might include rash, an irritable sensation, unusual change in the taste of your mouth, ear itching, pain, or discomfort.

Caution: Protect from sunlight and heat. Keep away from children’s reach. Do not freeze. Store between 15-30 degrees Celsius. Once opened, use within 4 weeks. On prescription only.
