Terbiderm Cream
Terbiderm Cream (Terbinafine Hydrochloride Cream JP) 1%w/w is an allylamine that has a broad spectrum of antifungal activity. At low concentrations terbinafine is fungicidal against dermatophytes, molds, and certain dimorphic fungi. The activity against yeasts is fungicidal or fungistatic, depending on the species.
Terbiderm is a new antifungal medicine which is effective and fast acting for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin and nails. Because of its specific antifungal activity against fungi, molds, and yeast, it not only cures the infections caused by them but also prevents their recurrence.
It is used for dermatophyte infections of the skin, on the foot, body hair and fungal infection of the nails.

Indications, Dosage & Administration: Use as directed by the physician. For further information see the pack insert.
Application: The duration of treatment varies according to the indication and the severity of the infection. Terbiderm can be applied once or twice daily. Cleanse and dry the affected areas thoroughly before treating with Terbiderm.
Apply cream the affected skin and surrounding area in a thin layer and rub in lightly. In case of intertriginous infections (submammary, interdigital, intergluteal inguinal) the application may be covered with gauze, especially at night.
Likely Duration of Treatment:
- Tinea corporis, cruris: 1 week
- Tinea pedis: 1 week
- Cutaneous candidiasis: 1 week
- Pityriasis versicolor: 2 weeks
Relief of clinical symptoms usually occurs within a few days. irregular use or premature discontinuation of treatment carries the risk of recurrence. If there are no signs of improvement after two weeks the diagnosis should be verified.
Skin fungal infections are cured with ease and shorter duration of Terbiderm cream application once or twice a day.

Indications: The cream is indicated for the fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton (e.g. T. Rubrum, T. Mentagrophytes, T. Verrucosum, T. Violaceum).
Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum yeast infections of the skin, principally those caused by the genus Candida (e.g. Candida albicans) Pityriasis (tinea) versicolor due to Pityrosporum orbiculare (also known as Malassezia fur fur).
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any of the excipients contained in the cream.
Precautions: The cream is for external use only. Contact with eyes should be avoided. Terbiderm tablets and creams should be kept out of the reach of children.
Pregnancy & Lactation: Topical treatment, the small amounts absorbed through the skin are unlikely to affect the infant.
Side Effects: Redness, Itching, or stinging occasionally occur at the site of application: however, treatment rarely has to be discontinued for this reason. These harmless symptoms must be distinguished from allergic reactions which are rare but require discontinuation.
