SYLOGEL Lignocaine HCl Gel (B.P) sterile by SP is a 15 gm (approx) local anaesthetic gel for topical use. This gel is primarily used as a topical numbing agent and anesthetic lubricant. It temporarily blocks nerve signals in the body to prevent or relieve pain.

Package Contains: Each SYLOGEL package contains a gel tube of 15 g & a leaflet.

Composition:

Each gram contains Lignocaine HCl 2% in a water-miscible base.

Dosage: As directed by the physician.

Indications / Uses: SYLOGEL is indicated for the following:

Medical Procedures: Numbs mucous membranes and provides lubrication during diagnostic or clinical procedures like urinary catheterization, cystoscopy, and endoscopy.
Intubation: Acts as an anesthetic lubricant for inserting nasal or oral endotracheal tubes.
Anorectal Discomfort: Provides temporary relief from pain, itching, and burning caused by conditions such as piles (hemorrhoids) or anal fissures.
Minor Skin Irritations: Soothes localized pain or itching from minor burns, sunburns, insect bites, scrapes, and small cuts.
Dental and Oral Relief: Eases discomfort stemming from mouth ulcers, denture irritation, or sore gums.

Dosage & Administration:

Clean and dry the affected area before application.
Wash your hands before and after use.
Apply a thin layer of gel to the affected area.
Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, and ears.
Do not apply to large open wounds or severely damaged skin unless directed by a doctor.
Use 3–4 times daily, or as directed by your healthcare professional.

Side Effects: While usually well-tolerated, some individuals may experience a temporary burning or stinging sensation at the site of application & localized redness, mild irritation, or skin rashes.
