GTN cream

GTN cream (0.2% Glyceryl Trinitrate) is manufactured by Mumtaz Pharmacy (Pvt.) Ltd. This medicine is used as an anti-haemorrhoid cream for anal fissure.

Each pack contains: Each pack of GTN cream 15 gm and an enclosed leaflet.

Glyceryl Trinitrate 0.2%

Usage:

Until recently the only non-surgical method of treatment was to avoid constipation and the use of anal dilators(stretchers). If this treatment was not successful an operation was advised.

It is now available for the treatment of fissures and is proving to be successful. GTN causes a relaxation of one of the muscles and is associated with increased blood supply to the area of the fissure, thereby allowing it to heal.

Direction for use: Get a small amount of the cream on your index finger and apply it around your anus; do not rub it. The cream should not be inserted into the anus just around the surrounding skin.

Remember to wash your hands immediately after as it can be absorbed by your fingers. The cream should be applied twice a day with the provided applicator or as advised by the doctor.

Important: It is essential that whilst you are using GTN 0.2% cream you must not take sildenafil as this could have potentially serious side effects.

Side effects: With this cream, a short-term headache may occur.

Instructions: Store at controlled room temperature from (15-30°C).
