Flogocid

Flogocid (Bufexamac) + (Neomycin) + (Nystatin) is a 15g ointment. It is a dermatological medication containing Bufexamac, a non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drug, Nystatin, a powerful antifungal agent, and Neomycin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic.

Package Contains: Each Flogocid package contains an ointment of 15g and a leaf inserted inside.

Composition: Flogocid

Each g contains:

Bufexamac 50mg

Neomycin Sulphate 2,500 IU

Nystatin 100,000 IU

Dosage & Administration: As directed by the physician.

Uses: Flogocid is used in muco-cutaneous moniliasis, perleche, intertrigo, microbial or moniasis eczema, ano-genital eczema, buttock dermatitis in newborn children, and dermo-epidermatitis with risk of superficial infections.

The cream will have a preference for treating humid or running lesions as well as hairy areas. Flogocid ointment, because of its emollient properties, is more indicated for the treatment of dry, cracked, or crusted lesions and in squamous or lichenified areas.

Side effects: Allergic contact-reactions have sometimes been encountered after repeated applications. Such reactions, which are characterized by the appearance of pruritus or the aggravation of a pre-existing pruritus, are not frequent and require the interruption of the medication.

Directions for use: Flogocid ointment should be applied two to four times daily in a thin layer. A light massage over the whole surface of the skin to be treated favours the penetration of the cream or ointment. The frequency of applications depends on the evolution of the lesions: When the infection is deep-seated or in case of lymphangitic reaction, a systemic antibiotherapy will have to be combined with the topical treatment.
