Betnovate-N Cream 20 grams is used to treat different types of skin conditions such as skin infections.

Package Contains: Each package contains a 20ml Betnovate-N cream tube.

Contains (Composition):

0.1% W/W Betamethasone as betamethasone 17 valerate B.P.

0.5%W/W Neomycin sulphate B.P.

Indications: Indicated for the treatment of the following conditions where secondary bacterial infection is present, suspected, or likely to occur: Eczema, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, insect bite reactions, prickly heat, anal and genital intertrigo, and otitis externa.

Dosage & Administration: A small quantity should be applied to the affected area 2-3 times daily until improvement occurs. Thereafter once a day application may suffice.

Contraindications:  Hypersensitivity to any ingredient. Rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital pruritus, primary skin infections caused by viruses, fungi, bacteria, or yeasts.

It should not be used in secondary infections due to pseudomonas or proteus species. In children below one year including dermatitis & napkin eruptions. Perforated tympanic membrane in cases of otitis externa.

Warning and Precautions: Long-term therapy should be avoided particularly in infants and children as adrenal suppression may occur.

• Visual disturbance has been reported by patients using systemic and/or topical corticosteroids. Care should be taken so that the preparation does not enter the eyes as glaucoma may result.
• If the infection persists, systemic therapy is required. In cases of spread of infection, topical steroid therapy should be stopped.
• Care is required in the elderly and in patients with impaired renal function. Contact sensitization may occur on prolonged use. The product should not be diluted.

Pregnancy & Lactation: Not recommended.

Side Effects:  Local atrophic changes e.g. thinning, striae, and dilatation of superficial blood vessels, pigmentation, and hypertrichosis may occur. As with other corticosteroids, hypercriticism may occur with prolonged use. Sometimes hypersensitivity reactions and exacerbations of symptoms may occur.
