Betnesol-N Eye Ointment
Betnesol-N Eye Ointment by GSK GlaxoSmithKline is 5 grams (Sterile) eye ointment. It is used for non-infected steroid-responsive inflammatory conditions.
Package Contains: Each pack of Betnesol-N contains an ointment tube of 5 grams.
Composition: 
0.1% w/w Betamethasone sodium phosphate B.P.
0.5% w/w Neomycin sulphate B.P.
Dosage & Administration: For adults, 2-3 times daily and/or at night. Not recommended for children < 2 years.
Uses/ Indications: Betnesol-N Eye Ointment is used for Non-infected steroid-responsive inflammatory conditions, e.g., uveitis, marginal keratitis, allergic conjunctivitis, blepharitis, episcleritis, and secondary bacterial infection.
Contraindications: Viral, fungal, tuberculous, or purulent conditions, hypersensitivity, and if glaucoma is present or where herpetic keratitis is considered.
Adverse reactions: Serious rise in intraocular pressure in most of those with a family history of glaucoma. Thinning of the cornea leading to perforation and cataract.
Warnings and Precautions: It should not be administered to ‘red eyes’ until a definitive diagnosis is made. Treatment should not be repeated or prolonged without regular review to exclude raised intra-ocular pressure or unsuspected infections. Long-term continuous topical therapy should be avoided. Visual disturbance has been reported by patients using systemic and /or topical corticosteroids.
Pregnancy and Lactation: Not recommended.
