Description
Each film-coated tablet contains
Sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate is equivalent to Sitagliptin 50 mg.
Metformin HCL BP 500 mg.
Sitagliptin/metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes.
Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems.
Sita Met 50mg/500mg Tablet is commonly used to treat the symptoms associated with high blood sugar in type 2 diabetic patients. It is especially useful for patients unable to control their blood sugar with diet modifications and exercise.
Sita Met can be used alone or in combination with other oral anti-diabetic drugs. It is not recommended for Type 1 diabetic patients.
Sitagliptin works by increasing the secretion of insulin from the pancreas. Metformin increases the peripheral utilization of glucose. Both are given together to control the blood sugar and keep it in the normal range in patients who are not responding to monotherapy.
Dosage: As directed by the physician. The recommended dose of Sita Met 50mg/500mg for adults (above 18 years) is 1 tablet a day. Sita Met 50mg/500mg Tablet is not recommended for children (below 18 years of age). If you have any queries about Sita Met 50mg/500mg Tablet, please contact your doctor.
