BETACIN-N Cream (Betamethasone + Neomycin) of 15 g by Geofman is used for different skin treatments. It is Halal & for external use only. This cream is & white to off-white, homogeneous, soft and cream-like in texture.
Betamethasone is a potent corticosteroid that works as a strong anti-inflammatory medicine. It is used to reduce inflammation, swelling, and redness of the skin. Neomycin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria and helps prevent or treat skin infections. It works by stopping the growth of harmful bacteria.
Package contains: Each BETACIN-N package contains a 15-gram cream tube.
Composition: Betamethasone B.P. (as 17-Valerate) 0.1% w/w
Neomycin Sulphate B.P 0.5% w/w

Dosage: To be used as directed by the physician.
Indications: BETACIN-N cream is indicated for the treatment of the following conditions where secondary bacterial infection is present or likely to occur: Eczema, psoriasis, neurodermatoses, seborrhoeic dermatitis, contact sensitivity & insect bite reactions, prickly heat & genital intertrigo and otitis externa.
Directions for use: A small quantity should be applied to the affected area 2-3 times daily until improvement occurs. Thereafter, once a day application may suffice or to be used as directed by the physician.
Contra-indications: Hypersensitivity to any ingredients, rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital pruritus, primary skin infections caused by viruses, fungi and bacteria or yeasts. BETACIN-N should not be used in secondary infections due to Pseudomonas or Proteus species (Gram-negative bacteria). It should not be used in children below one year, including dermatitis & napkin eruptions. Perforated tympanic membrane in cases of otitis externa.
Precautions & Warnings: Long-term therapy should be avoided, especially in infants and children, as adrenal suppression may occur. Care should be taken so that the Preparation does not enter the eyes. In cases of spread of infection, topical steroid therapy should be stopped. Prolonged application on the face should be avoided. Neomycin is not recommended in Pregnancy and lactation.
Side Effects: BETACIN-N cream side effects are local atrophic changes, pigmentation, hypertrichosis, hypersensitivity reactions and exacerbation of symptoms. As with other corticosteroids, hypercorticism may occur with prolonged use.
