Xylor

Xylor (Loratadine tablets USP) tablets are long-acting, non-sedating antihistamines. Loratadine is a potent long-acting tricyclic antihistamine with selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonistic activity. It is used for the relief of allergic symptoms, which can be caused by dust and pollen, etc.

Package Contains: It contains 20 tablets of 10mg.

Composition:

Each film coated tablet contains:

Loratadine USP 10 mg

Dosage: Adults and Children: (12 years of age and over): one tablet once daily or as directed by the physician.

Indications/ Uses: For indications and other information, see enclosed insert. Xylor products are indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, nasal discharge and itching as well as ocular itching and burning.

Xylor products are also indicated for the relief of symptoms and signs of chronic urticarial and other allergic dermatologic disorders.

Precautions: Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of this drug, especially drowsiness, or confusion. These side effects can increase the risk of falling. Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant

Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness until you are sure you can perform such activities safely.

Pregnancy & Lactation: Safe use of Xylor products during pregnancy has not been established. Therefore,use only if potential benefit justifies potential  risk to fetus. Since Loratadine is excreted in breast milk and because of the increased risk of antihistamines for infants particularly newborn or premature infants a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue the drug.

For tablets: Products contain lactose.

Adverse Reactions / Side Effects: In worldwide controlled clinical studies, the incidence of adverse effects associated with Xylor tablets has been comparable to that of placebo. In these trials, Loratadine has shown no clinically significant sedative or anticholinergic properties. Fatigue, sedation and headache were rarely reported events which were also reported with similar incidence in placebo treated patients.
