Tenoxam

Tenoxam (Tenoxicam 20mg), 2 tablets by Pearl, is an anti-rheumatic medicine. An anti-rheumatic medicine is used to reduce pain and inflammation associated with rheumatic conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and degenerative joint disease.

Package contains: Each pack of Tenoxam contains 2 tablets and a leaf inserted inside.

Indications / Uses: Tenoxam is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of the following painful inflammatory and degenerative disorders of the musculoskeletal system:

  • rheumatoid arthritis;
  • degenerative joint disease,
  • ankylosing spondylitis; extra-articular disorders, e.g. tendinitis, bursitis. periarthritis of shoulders (shoulder-hand syndrome) or hips; acute gout.

Restrictions on use: Tenoxam (Tenoxicam) should not be administered to patients known to be hypersensitive to the drug. Patients in whom salicylates or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) induce symptoms of asthma, rhinitis or urticaria should also be excluded. This also applies to patients who are suffering or have suffered from severe diseases of the upper gastro-intestinal tract, including gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcer.

Standard dosage:  For all indications with the exception of gouty arthritis, 20 mg (1 tablet) should be taken once daily at the same time each day, with a glass of water. Daily doses higher than 20 mg should be avoided since this would increase the frequency and intensity of adverse reactions without significantly increasing efficacy. For patients needing long-term treatment a reduction to a daily dose of 10mg (1/2 tablet) may be tried for maintenance.
