Beta-C Betamethasone (as Dipropionate) USP 0.05% w/w and Clotrimazole USP 0.1% w/w by Prays is a 15 g topical cream. The product complies with USP specifications. It is used to treat fungal skin infections accompanied by inflammation, redness, and itching.

Composition: 

Each gram contains:

Betamethasone (as Dipropionate) USP 0.05% w/w

Clotrimazole USP 0.1% w/w

Uses / Indications: Beta-C cream is indicated for the topical treatment of the following dermal infections, tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis due to trichophyton rubrum, trichophyton mentagrophytes, epidermophyton floccosum and mycosporum canis, candidiasis due to candida albicans.

Directions for Use / Dosage & Administration: Gently massage sufficient Beta-C cream into the affected and surrounding skin areas twice daily, in the morning and evening for two weeks in tinea cruris. Tinea corporis and Candidiasis and for four weeks in tinea pedis.

Adverse Reactions / Side Effects: The following adverse reactions have been reported in frequently with Clotrimazole & betamethasone dipropionate when used in combination: Paresthesia, maculapapular rash edema & secondary infections reported to adverse reaction clotrimazole include erythema, stinging, blistering, peeling, edema, pruritus, urticaria & general irritation of the skin.

The following local adverse reactions have been reported within the use of topical corticosteroids, burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneform, eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, contact dermatitis, maceration of skin secondary infections and skin.

Contraindications: The Cream is contraindicated in those patients with a history of sensitivity reactions to any of its ingredients, other corticosteroid or imidazole.

Precautions / Warnings: It should not be used with occlusive dressing. If imidazole or sensitization develops with the use of Beta-C cream, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy should be instituted. In the presence of bacterial infection an appropriate antibacterial agent should be administered concomitantly. If a favorable response does not occur promptly Beta- C cream should be discontinued until the infection has been controlled adequately.

Over Dosage Symptoms: Excessive or prolonged use of topical corticosteroids can suppress pituitary-adrenal function, resulting in secondary adrenal hypercorticalism, including Cushing’s disease.
