Vepev (Doxylamine Succinate + Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) 20mg/20mg 30 tablets, extended-release. It is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

Package Contains: Each Vepev package contains 30 tablets of 20mg/20mg & a leaflet.

Composition:  Each film-coated extended-release tablet contains: Vepev
Doxylamine Succinate 10mg
Pyridoxine HCl 10mg

Dosage: As prescribed by the physician.

Indications: It is indicated for the first-line treatment recommendations for nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

Doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride extended-release tablets are a combination drug product of doxylamine succinate, an antihistamine, and pyridoxine hydrochloride, a Vitamin B6 analog, indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy in women who do not respond to conservative management.

Adverse Effects: The most common adverse reaction with doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride is somnolence.

Side Effects: Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

  • Dry mouth, nose, and throat.
  • Drowsiness.
  • Headache.
  • Restlessness.
  • Dizziness.
  • Muscle pain or weakness.
  • Stomach pain.
  • Constipation.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Rash.

Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of these symptoms, stop taking doxylamine and pyridoxine and call your doctor immediately or get emergency medical treatment:

  • Vision problems.
  • Blurred vision.
  • Dilated pupils (black circles in the centers of the eyes).
  • Painful urination.
  • Fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeat.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Confusion.
  • Seizures.

Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.

Contraindications:

  • People who are allergic to doxylamine succinate, other antihistamines derived from ethanolamine, pyridoxine hydrochloride, or any of the ingredients (such as ammonium hydroxide, alcohol, etc.) in the medication should not take it.
  • Additionally, this medication should not be used if the patient is currently taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
