Asthotifen Syrup

Asthotifen Syrup KETOTFEN by Zafa 60ml syrup. It contains Ketotifen, an antihistamine medicine used in the management of allergic conditions and for the prevention of asthma symptoms. It works by reducing the effects of histamine and stabilizing mast cells, which can help reduce allergic reactions and airway inflammation.

Composition:  Asthotifen Syrup

Each 5ml contains:

Ketotifen 1mg

as Ketotifen Hydrogen Fumarate BP 1.38mg

Dosage: Adults: One to two teaspoons twice daily or as directed by the physician.

Children: As directed by the physician.

Uses/ Indications:  It is commonly used for the prevention and treatment of asthma. Asthma is a chronic respiratory condition that affects the airways and can cause symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness.

Side Effects/ Adverse Effects: Like all medicines, Asthotifen syrup may cause the following side effects, such as:

  • Headache.
  • GI upset.
  • Rash rarely.
  • Hepatitis.
  • Bruising.
  • Bleeding disorder.

Contraindications: The Syrup is contraindicated for Hepatic impairment, cirrhosis, hypersensitivity, and lactation.

Interactions: The Syrup may interact with Warfarin, theophylline, aspirin, terfenadine, erythromycin, and smoking.

Precautions: Asthotifen Syrup: Moderate to severe renal impairment. Elderly, pregnancy. Discontinue if an eosinophilic condition or a Churg-Strauss syndrome develop. If signs or symptoms of hepatotoxicity, measure serum transaminases and consider withdrawing therapy.
