Tobra-D
Tobra-D eye drops (Tobramycin 0.3% & Dexamethasone 0.1%) by Schazoo is a 5ml sterile ophthalmic suspension. It is used for ocular (eye) inflammation & infections.
Package Contains: Each Tobra-D package contains 5ml eye drops in a dropper bottle & a leaflet.
Composition: Each ml contains: 
Tobramycin U.S.P. 3 mg
Dexamethasone U.S.P. 1 mg
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose as vehicle, Benzalkonium chloride as preservative, EDTA, Sodium Sulphate Anhydrous, Sulfuric acid to adjust pH and WFI.

Uses/ Indications: Tobra-D eye drops are indicated for:
- Steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions for which a corticosteroid is indicated and where superficial bacterial ocular infection or a risk of bacterial ocular infection exists.
- Ocular steroids are indicated in inflammatory conditions of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva, cornea and anterior segment of the globe where the inherent risk of steroid use in certain infective conjunctivitides is accepted to obtain a diminution in edema and inflammation.
- Tobra-D eye drops are also indicated in chronic anterior uveitis and corneal injury from chemical, radiation, thermal burns or penetration of foreign bodies.
- The use of a combination drug with an anti-infective component is indicated where the risk of superficial ocular infection is high or where there is an expectation that potentially dangerous numbers of bacteria will be present in the eye.
Side Effects/Adverse Reactions: The most frequent adverse reactions are hypersensitivity and localized ocular toxicity, including lid itching and swelling, conjunctival erythema, elevation of intraocular pressure with possible development of glaucoma, infrequent optic nerve damage, posterior subcapsular cataract formation, delayed wound healing, and fungal infection of the cornea.
Contraindications: Tobra-D is contraindicated in epithelial herpes simplex keratitis (dendritic keratitis), vaccinia, varicella, and many other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva, mycobacterial infection of the eye, fungal diseases of ocular structures & hypersensitivity to a component of the medication. The use of this combination is always contraindicated after uncomplicated removal of a corneal foreign body.
