Tobra eye drops (Tobramycin U.S.P. 0.3%), by Schazoo SPL, 5 ml eye drops, is a broad-spectrum antibacterial sterile ophthalmic solution.

Package Contains: Each Tobra package contains 5ml eye drops in a dropper bottle & a leaflet.

Composition: Each ml contains:

Tobramycin U.S.P. 3 mg

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose as vehicle,

Benzalkonium Chloride as Preservative,

Boric acid, Sodium Borate, Tween 80 and WFI.

Uses/ Indications: Tobra eye drops are indicated in the treatment of external infections of the eye and its adnexa caused by susceptible bacteria, e.g., all conditions like conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, blepharitis, dacryocystitis, palpebral abscess, and prophylactic in traumatic, pre and post-operative conditions. It is effective for use in children.

Adverse Reactions: The most frequent adverse reactions to it are hypersensitivity and localized ocular toxicity, including lid itching, swelling, and conjunctival erythema. If it is administered concomitantly with systemic aminoglycoside antibiotics, care should be taken to monitor the total serum concentration.

Contraindications: It is contraindicated in patients with known hyper-sensitivity to tobramycin.

Precautions/Warnings: As with other antibiotics prolonged use may result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, including fungi. In case of superinfection proper therapy should be followed.

Not for injection into the eye. Sensitivity to topically applied aminoglycosides may occur in some patients. If a sensitivity reaction to it occurs, discontinue use.

Pregnancy: Tobra ophthalmic solution should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

Nursing mothers: Because of the potential for adverse reactions in nursing infants from Tobra, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing the infant or discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.

Directions:

Protect from freezing.
Store below 30°C.
Protect from heat, light and moisture.
Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
To be used within 4 weeks after opening.
