XYLOR Syrup
XYLOR Syrup (Loratadine oral solution USP) by Atco is a 5mg/5 mL strength syrup of 60 mL. It is a long-acting, non-sedating antihistamine. Loratadine is a potent long-acting tricyclic antihistamine with selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonistic activity. It is used for the relief of allergic symptoms, which can be caused by dust and pollen, etc.
Package Contains: Each Xylor package contains a syrup bottle of 60 ml in 5mg / 5ml strength & a leaflet.
Composition: 
Each 5 ml contains:
Loratadine USP 5mg.
Dosage:
Children:
(2 to 7 years) 1 teaspoonful once daily
(8 to 12 years) 2 teaspoonsful once daily
Adult: 2 teaspoonsful once daily or as directed by the Physician.
Indications & Uses: XYLOR Syrup is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, nasal discharge, and itching, as well as ocular itching and burning.
Xylor products are also indicated for the relief of symptoms and signs of chronic urticarial and other allergic dermatologic disorders.
Contraindications: Xylor products are contraindicated in patients who have shown hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to their components.
Precautions & Warnings: Patients with severe liver impairment should be administered a lower initial dose because they may have reduced clearance of Loratadine; an initial dose of 5mg once daily or 10mg every other day is recommended. Safety and efficacy of Xylor products in children younger than two years of age have not yet been established.
Pregnancy & Lactation: Safe use of Xylor products during pregnancy has not been established. Therefore, use only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus. Since Loratadine is excreted in breast milk and because of the increased risk of antihistamines for infants, particularly newborn or premature infants, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue the drug.
Adverse Reactions / Side Effects: In worldwide controlled clinical studies, the incidence of adverse effects associated with Xylor syrup has been comparable to that of placebo. In controlled pediatric clinical trials, the incidence of treatment-related headache, sedation, and nervousness, which were rarely reported events, was similar to that of placebo. During the marketing of Loratadine, alopecia has been reported rarely.
