Procarol

Procarol (PROCATEROL HCI) by Olive, 120 ml, Syrup of 25mcg/5ml strength. It is used to relax the muscles in the airways to make breathing easier.

Package Contains: Each Procarol package contains a syrup bottle of 120ml & a leaflet. It is also available in the form of tablets 50 mcg. 

Composition: Procaterol HCI (J.P) 25 mcg

Product complies with Hiranis Specs.

Usual Dosage: Adult: 50mcg (2 teaspoonfuls) once before bedtime or twice daily (in the morning and at bedtime)

• Children 26 years: 25mcg (1 teaspoonful) once before bedtime or twice daily (in the morning and at bedtime)
• Infants: The usual dose is as indicated below depending on age or 1.25mcg/kg body weight two or three times daily.
• Less than 1 year old: %-½ teaspoonful of syrup.
• 1-2 years old: ½-½ teaspoonful of syrup
• 3-5 years old: 2-1 teaspoonful of syrup.

The dosage should be increased or decreased depending on the patient’s condition or as directed by the physician.

Uses/ Indications: Procarol syrup is indicated for the relief of dyspnea and other symptoms caused by respiratory obstruction from the following conditions: Bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema and acute bronchitis.

Side Effects/ Adverse Reactions:

• Cardiovascular: Occasional palpitation, flush, and rare sense of fever have been reported.
• Neuropsychic: Occasional tremor, dizziness, headache, and rare sleeplessness and ringing in the ear have been reported.
• Gastrointestinal: Occasional nausea has been reported.
• Hypersensitivity: Occasional rash has been reported.
• Others: Rare thirst, general fatigue and nasal congestion have been reported.

Use in pregnancy & lactation: The safe use of Procarol syrup has not been established in human pregnancy. The use of the drug in pregnancy or women of childbearing potential requires that the expected therapeutic benefit of the drug be weighed against its possible hazards to the mother or child.

Instruction:

Keep the bottle’s cap tightly closed.

Store below 30°C in a dry place,

protect from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
