Labetalol HCI Tablets

LABETALOL HCI Tablets USP by Zafa  20 of 100 mg. It is used for high blood pressure (hypertension), high blood pressure during pregnancy, and blood pressure associated with angina (chest pain).

Package Contains: Each Labetalol HCI package contains 20 tablets of 100mg.

Labetalol HCI USP 100mg

Dosage: As directed by the physician, and dosage must be individualized. The recommended initial dose is 100mg twice daily, while the usual maintenance dose is between 200mg and 400mg twice daily.

Children: Not recommended.

Uses/ Indications: Labetalol HCI Tablets are indicated in the management of Hypertension. It may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents, especially thiazide and loop diuretics.

Side Effects: Like all medicines, Labetalol HCI may cause some side effects:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when standing up quickly.
  • Tiredness or weakness.
  • Headache.
  • Nausea or vomiting.
  • Constipation.
  • Stomach upset or gas.
  • Tingling or itching of the scalp.
  • Cold hands and feet.
  • Stuffy nose.
  • Difficulty sleeping.
  • Reduced sexual desire or erectile dysfunction in some men.

Contraindications: Contraindicated in bronchial asthma, overt cardiac failure, greater than first-degree heart block, cardiogenic shock, severe bradycardia, other conditions associated with severe & prolonged hypotension, and in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any component of the product.

Precautions: Should be used with caution in patients with impaired hepatic function or jaundice.
