AROMEK (2.5 mg, film-coated tablets, Letrozole) by Galaxy is a pack of 10 film-coated tablets of 2.5 mg. These tablets (containing Letrozole) are an aromatase inhibitor used to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in post-menopausal women.

Package Contains: Each Aromek package contains 10 film coated tablets of 2.5mg & a leaflet.

Composition:  AROMEk

Each tablet contains 2.5 mg of letrozole (USP).

Inactive ingredients:
Microcrystalline Cellulose, Lactose Monohydrate, Maize Starch, Sodium Starch Glycolate, Magnesium Stearate, Opadry AMB White.

Dosage: As directed by the physician. For oral use.

Uses: It blocks the production of estrogens. It is used in the treatment of advanced breast cancer in women who are post-menopausal. Aromek is used in post-menopausal women with hormone receptor-positive early invasive breast cancer.

It is also used in post-menopausal women with early breast cancer after they have received standard tamoxifen therapy. It can also be used to treat localised breast cancer in post-menopausal women before breast surgery. Your doctor will arrange regular check-ups during this treatment period before surgery as there is a risk that your disease could progress even while taking this medicine.

Side Effects:

  • Appetite problems (loss of appetite or increased appetite)
  • Raised cholesterol levels
  • Depression
  • Headache
  • Dizziness; problems with the digestive system (feeling sick, vomiting, indigestion, constipation, diarrhoea)
  • Loss or thinning of the hair
  • Bone or muscle pain
  • Bone thinning (osteoporosis), fractures.
  • Skin rash
  • Fatigue (feeling tired)
  • Swelling of the legs or feet due to fluid retention
  • Weight gain.
