Azitic

Azitic (Azithromycin U.S.P) 250 mg is a Broad-Spectrum Antibiotic, 10 Capsules. It is used to treat bacterial infections.

Dosage & Administration: As directed by the physician.

Uses: Azithromycin belongs to the macrolide group of antibiotics, which are used to treat bacterial infections by stopping bacteria from producing proteins they need to grow and multiply.

  • Throat infections (tonsillitis, pharyngitis).
  • Ear infections.
  • Sinus infections (sinusitis).
  • Infections of the respiratory tract (bronchitis and pneumonia)
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Certain sexually transmitted infections.

Possible Side Effects: Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, or cramps.

Serious side effects: Stop using Azithromycin and seek medical attention immediately if you notice any of the following symptoms (Uncommon): Sudden wheeziness, Rapid or irregular heartbeat, dark urine, loss of appetite, or severe diarrhoea with abdominal cramps.

Precautions:

  • Take the medicine exactly as prescribed and complete the full course.
  • Do not use it to treat viral infections such as the common cold or flu.
  • Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking, especially heart medicines, blood thinners, or antacids.
  • If taking antacids containing aluminum or magnesium, take them at least 2 hours apart from azithromycin.
  • Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if advised by your doctor.
  • Stop the medicine and seek medical help if you develop a severe rash, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
