CUTIVATE M
CUTIVATE M (Fluticasone Propionate + Mupirocin) by GSK is a 10 gm Ointment. Fluticasone Propionate is a corticosteroid (steroid) medicine used to reduce redness, itching, swelling, irritation, and allergic inflammation of the skin.
It works by blocking inflammatory chemicals released by the body that cause symptoms such as redness, heat, swelling, and itching, thereby calming the affected skin. It is commonly used to treat conditions like eczema, rashes, dermatitis, and other itchy inflammatory skin problems.
Package Contains: Each pack of Cutivate M contains a 10 g ointment tube & a leaflet. It is also available in cream.
Composition: Each gram contains: 
Fluticasone Propionate B.P. 0.005% w/w and Mupirocin B.P. 20% w/w

Dosage & Administration: To be used as directed by the physician. For details, see the information leaflet. For adults, children, and infants aged three months and over, apply a thin film of it to the affected areas twice daily for up to 10 days, depending upon the response.
Uses/ Indications: CUTIVATE M is indicated for adults, children, and infants aged 3 months and over for the treatment of steroid-responsive inflammatory disorders of the skin where secondary bacterial infection is present, suspected, or likely to occur. Its formulation is indicated in dry lesions.
Contra-indications: It is contraindicated in the following conditions:
Rosacea
Acne vulgaris
Perioral dermatitis
Primary cutaneous viral infections
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
Perianal and genital pruritus
Its use is also not indicated in the treatment of primary infected skin lesions caused by infection with fungi and bacteria.
Dermatoses in children under 3 months of age, including dermatitis and napkin eruptions.
Precautions and Warnings:
Prolonged application of high doses to large areas of body surface, especially in infants and small children, might lead to adrenal suppression.
Children have a greater surface area to body weight ratio compared with adults. Therefore in comparison with adults, children may absorb proportionally larger amounts of topical corticosteroids and thus be more susceptible to systemic toxicity. Care should be taken when using the ointment to ensure the amount applied is the minimum that provides therapeutic benefit.
Avoid prolonged application to the face and ensure that the preparation does not enter the eye. In the rare event of a possible sensitization reaction or severe local irritation occurring with the use of this treatment, it should be discontinued, the product should be rinsed off, and appropriate alternative therapy for the infection should be instituted with medical advice. Any spread of infection requires withdrawal of topical corticosteroid therapy and systemic administration of antimicrobial agents. Its formulation is not suitable for ophthalmic or intranasal use.
Side Effects: Exacerbation of the signs and symptoms of the dermatoses has been reported with corticosteroid use. Local burning, erythema, and pruritus. If signs of hypersensitivity appear, the application should be stopped immediately. Prolonged and intensive treatment with potent corticosteroid-containing preparations may cause local atrophic changes in the skin, such as thinning, striae, dilation of the superficial blood vessels, hypertrichosis, and hypopigmentation.
Prolonged use of large amounts of corticosteroids, or treatment of extensive areas, can result in sufficient systemic absorption to produce the features of hypercortisolism. This effect is more likely in infants and children, and if occlusive dressings are used. In infants, the napkin may act as an occlusive dressing. 
Instruction: Do not freeze. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
Store below 25°C. Protect from light, for external use only.
