Calamox DS

Calamox DS (co-amoxiclav) by Bosch is a 312.5mg/5mL oral Suspension in Powder form (after reconstitution), 60 mL syrup. It contains co-amoxiclav in dry powder form to make a syrup, which must be prepared using a specific method before use. Co-amoxiclav is a common antibiotic made from amoxicillin, which kills bacteria, and clavulanic acid, which helps prevent bacterial resistance. It is used to treat different bacterial infections.

Package Contains: Each calamox package contains DS suspension 312.5mg/5ml and a leaflet.

Composition: When reconstituted as directed, each 5ml contains:  Calamox DS

Amoxicillin Trihydrate eq. to 250mg Amoxicillin USP

Potassium Clavulanate BP eq. to 62.5mg Clavulanic acid

Directions for Reconstitution: Add a small quantity of pre-boiled cool water in the bottle and shake well, then add more water upto the mark given on the label and shake well to make a suspension.

Therapeutic Indications: Calamox DS is indicated for the treatment of the following infections in adults and children:

  • Acute bacterial sinusitis (adequately diagnosed)
  • Acute otitis media
  • Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis (adequately diagnosed)
  • Community-acquired pneumonia
  • Cystitis
  • Pyelonephritis
  • Skin and soft tissue infections, in particular cellulitis, animal bites, and severe dental abscesses with spreading cellulitis.
  • Bone and joint infections, in particular osteomyelitis.

Precautions: Once reconstituted, the suspension must be stored in a refrigerator; do not freeze and use within 7 days.

  • Close the cap properly after use.
  • To be sold on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.
  • Preparation contains penicillin.
  • Oral suspension in powder form.
  • Shake well before use.
  • For oral use only.

Instructions:                                                                

  • Do not take if the seal is broken.
  • Before reconstitution, protect from heat, sunlight & moisture, store below 25℃.
  • The expiration date refers to the product correctly.
