Crescor (Rosuvastatin) tablets belong to a group of medicines called statins.

Package contains: Each package contains 10 film coated tablets of 10mg and leaflet. It is also available in 5mg & 20mg film coated tablets.

Composition:

Each tablet contains:

Rosuvastatin Calcium, BP equivalent to Rosuvastatin 10mg

Usual Dosage: As prescribed by the physician.

The dose range for Rosuvastatin in adults is 5 to 40 mg orally once daily. The usual starting dose is 10 to 20mg once daily. Rosuvastatin can be administered as a single dose at any time of day, with or without food. The tablet should be swallowed whole.

Therapeutic Indications:

Adult patients with primary hyperlipidaemia and mixed dyslipidaemia as an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated total-C, LDL-C, ApoB, non – HDL-C, and TG levels and to increase HDL-C.
Paediatric patients 8 to 17 years of age with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) to reduce LDL-C, total-C, non – HDL-C, ApoB, as an adjunct to diet, either alone or with other lipid-lowering treatments.
Adult patients with primary hypertriglyceridemia as an adjunct to diet.
Adult patients with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia (Type III hyperlipoproteinemia) as an adjunct to diet.
Adult patients with primary homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) to reduce LDL-C, total-C, and ApoB.
Slowing the progression of atherosclerosis as part of a treatment strategy to lower total-C, and LDL-C as an adjunct to diet.
Risk reduction of MI, stroke, and arterial revascularization procedures in patients without clinically evident CHD, but with multiple risk factors Limitations of use: Rosuvastatin has not been studied in Fredrickson Type I and V dyslipidaemias.

Contraindications: Rosuvastatin is contraindicated

In patients allergic to any components of the product.
In patients with active liver disease, severe renal impairment, myopathy, and in patients receiving concomitant cyclosporine.
