Melas-H cream

Melas-H cream (Fusidic Acid and Hydrocortisone Acetate) 15g is a steroidal antibiotic cream. It is for external use only. It is an antibiotic cream with powerful antibacterial activity against a number of gram-positive organisms. It is used for skin infections.

Package contains: Each package of Melas-H contains a cream tube of 15 grams & a leaflet.

Composition: Each gram of cream contains:

Fusidic acid B.P 20mg

Hydrocortisone acetate B.P 10mg.

Dosage: see package insert for full prescribing information or as directed by the physician.

Indications: Melas-H cream is indicated for the treatment of skin infections caused by Staphylococci, Streptococci, Propionibacterium acnes, and others Melas- sensitive organisms.

The most important indications being: Impetigo boils, carbuncle, paronychia, infected wound sycosis barbae, hidradenitis, erythrasma, folliculitis, acne vulgaris. Melas is an invisible, non-staining preparation, which is cosmetically acceptable for the treatment of face and scalp infections.

Applications: Cream is applied to the affected area 2-3 times daily, generally for a period of 7 days, except for acne, where therapy should be extended for a longer period according to the nature of this disease.

Side Effects: Common or potential side effects include: Itchy rash and skin, inflammation, Red, spotty rash around the mouth, Thinning of the skin (atrophy), Stretch marks, Visible small veins (telangiectasia), & Lightening of skin color.

Instructions: Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Store below 30°C.
